10 Days From Today

Ten days from today is the calendar date ten days after the start date, counting the start as day zero. Taking Wednesday, November 4, 2026 as the example, the answer is Saturday, November 14, 2026 in ISO week 46, and the span holds 240 hours and 7 weekdays.

Leave the date empty and the page uses today. Every count treats the start date as day zero, the way courts count a deadline. All math runs in your browser.

Type a start date to get the date ten days later, ten business days later and ten days earlier, with the weekday, ISO week, hours and the counting rule courts use.

What ten days from today means

Ten days from today is the date ten calendar days after the day you start. If the start date is Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the answer is Saturday, November 14, 2026. Today counts as day zero, tomorrow is day one, and the tenth day is the date this page prints.

That convention matters, because the other common reading gives a different date. Counting today as day one makes the tenth day Friday, November 13, 2026, one day earlier than the calendar answer. Contracts, court rules and government agencies use the day zero reading, so a deadline written as ten days lands on November 14, not November 13.

Ten days also has a fixed size in smaller units. It is 240 hours, 14,400 minutes or 864,000 seconds, and it is one week plus three days. None of those numbers depend on the calendar or the month. Only the date moves, and it moves by exactly ten days unless you ask for business days.

Use the date field for a start date in the past or the future. Clear it and the page falls back to today in your own time zone, which keeps the answer correct for a reader in Sydney and a reader in Chicago on the same calendar day.

Calendar days and business days count differently

The rule courts use

A calendar count includes every day, so ten calendar days always move the date by exactly ten. A business count skips Saturday and Sunday, so ten business days cover fourteen calendar days when nothing else interrupts the stretch. Two weeks is ten business days, and ten calendar days is not.

Federal court deadlines follow Rule 6(a) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, published by the Legal Information Institute at Cornell Law School in its text of Rule 6. The rule is short and mechanical: exclude the day of the event that triggers the period, count every day including intermediate Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays, include the last day, and if the last day is a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, keep counting until the next day that is none of those.

Work through one case. A complaint is served on Thursday, February 25, 2027. Day one is Friday, February 26, and day ten is Sunday, March 7, 2027. Because day ten is a Sunday, the deadline runs to Monday, March 8, 2027. The weekend in the middle of the period is counted, and only the final day gets the push.

A second case shows the same rule from a Friday. Serve on Friday, December 25, 2026 and day ten is Monday, January 4, 2027. The Christmas holiday and New Year's Day both fall inside the period, and both count as intermediate days, so the date is ten days out rather than ten working days out.

Contracts are not courts. A lease, a job offer or a service agreement can define ten days as ten business days, or as ten days "by 5 pm" on the tenth day. Read the definition clause before you rely on a count.

The 10 day address rule for people living in the United States

USCIS and the AR-11

USCIS requires every noncitizen in the United States to report a change of address within 10 days of moving. The USCIS change of address page states the duty and lists the narrow exceptions: holders of A and G visas and visa waiver visitors do not report. The requirement comes from section 265 of the Immigration and Nationality Act and applies whether or not a benefit request is pending.

Ten days is a short window. A move on Friday, March 6, 2026 puts the deadline at Monday, March 16, 2026 under a straight calendar count, and the practical advice from USCIS is to file as soon as you move rather than on the last day. Either the online tool in a USCIS account or a paper Form AR-11 satisfies the requirement, and the online route updates a pending case almost at once. A paper form does not, which is why USCIS recommends the online tool.

Two traps sit inside those ten days. A change of address with the Postal Service does not update the immigration file, and USPS does not forward USCIS mail. Anyone in immigration court proceedings also has to notify the court separately, since Form AR-11 does not touch the court docket.

The consequence of missing the window is not a fixed fine. Failure to report can bring a fine, imprisonment or removal proceedings under 8 U.S.C. 1227(a)(3) and 1306, so the ten days are worth treating as a hard deadline rather than a suggestion.

Three fixed starts, worked through

Calendar, business and backward counts side by side

The table takes three start dates and shows each count. Business days here means Monday to Friday, with no holiday removal, which matches what the calculator does.

February 22, 2028March 3, 2028FridayMarch 7, 2028February 12, 202889

Read the first row as a sanity check. March 3, 2026 is a Tuesday, so ten days later is a Friday and ten business days later is a Tuesday, fourteen days out. The window runs from Wednesday, March 4 through Friday, March 13, which is eight weekdays and two weekend days.

The second row crosses a year. Ten calendar days from Christmas Day 2026 lands on Monday, January 4, 2027, which is ISO week 1 of the new year, while the ten business days version lands on Friday, January 8, 2027.

The fourth row is a leap year case. February 22, 2028 is a Tuesday, the window contains February 29, and ten days later is Friday, March 3, 2028. In a common year such as 2027 the same February 22 start lands on March 4, so the leap day pulls the calendar date one day earlier for the same ten elapsed days.

Ten days in hours, minutes, seconds and weeks

The conversions are fixed, because a day is 24 hours by definition and no calendar rule changes that. Only a daylight saving shift can make a local day 23 or 25 hours, and the arithmetic below ignores it on purpose.

UnitValue for ten daysHow it comes out
Hours24010 x 24 = 240
Minutes14,400240 x 60 = 14,400
Seconds864,00014,400 x 60 = 864,000
Weeks1 week and 3 days10 divided by 7 is 1 remainder 3
Weekdays7 or 8depends on the weekday you start on
Sleep at 8 hours a night80 hours10 x 8 = 80
Work at 8 hours a day56 to 64 hours7 or 8 workdays x 8

The weekday row is the one people get wrong. Ten days spans one full week plus three days, so it always contains one complete Monday to Friday stretch plus three more days. Those three days can hold one, two or three weekdays, which puts the total at 7 or 8. A start on Monday gives 8, a start on Saturday gives 7.

Working hours are smaller than they look. Ten calendar days is 56 to 64 paid hours at eight hours a day, not the 80 hours in two full workweeks, because the window is short of fourteen days by four.

Sleep is the largest single block in the ten days: 80 of the 240 hours at eight hours a night, which leaves 160 waking hours and about 56 of them at work in a standard week.

Crossing a month end, a year end or a leap day

Most starts stay inside one month, and the end of a month catches the rest. From February 25, 2027 the tenth day is March 7, 2027, because February 2027 has 28 days and the count runs off the end of the month on day four. The answer keeps moving into March without any adjustment: month lengths are handled by the date arithmetic, not by a 30 day shortcut.

A February start in a leap year has one extra day to cross. February 22, 2028 plus ten days is March 3, 2028, and the window contains February 29. Start a day later, on February 23, 2028, and the answer is March 4, since the leap day absorbs one of the ten.

Year ends behave the same way. December 25, 2026 plus ten days is January 4, 2027, which is ISO week 1 of 2027 even though the start sat in week 52 of 2026. The ISO week number can fall while the date rises, so a report keyed on ISO weeks shows a drop at the boundary that is not an error.

Anyone adding ten days in a spreadsheet should use a date function and not a month function. Ten days is not a third of a month, and months run from 28 to 31 days, so a month based formula drifts by up to three days depending on where in the year it lands.

Counting ten days by hand in five steps

The arithmetic is simple enough to check on paper, and doing it once makes the calculator output easy to trust.

Step 1. Write the start date and mark it as day zero. If the notice arrived at 4 pm on March 3, the trigger day is March 3 and nothing is counted that day.

Step 2. Add ten to the day number. March 3 becomes day 13 of March.

Step 3. If the number is past the end of the month, subtract the real length of that month and move to the next one. February 25 plus ten gives 35, February has 28 days, so 35 minus 28 is 7 and the month becomes March.

Step 4. Convert the day number back to a weekday with a calendar. March 13, 2026 is a Friday, which matches the table above.

Step 5. For a business count, walk the calendar one day at a time, skip Saturday and Sunday, and stop when you have counted ten weekdays. That is how March 3, 2026 becomes March 17, 2026 instead of March 13.

The step people skip is step 1. A count that starts on day one instead of day zero produces a date one day early, which is the single most common error in deadline arithmetic.

The mistakes that move the answer by a day

Five errors account for almost every wrong ten day date. Each one is easy to check once you know its shape.

MistakeWhat it producesCorrect approach
Counting the start date as day oneMarch 12, 2026 instead of March 13Treat the start as day zero
Skipping weekends in a calendar countA date four days lateCalendar counts include Saturday and Sunday
Treating ten business days as ten calendar daysA deadline four days earlyTen business days spans 14 calendar days
Using 30 day months everywhereA date off by up to three days near a month endUse the real length of each month
Ignoring the weekend push on the last dayA deadline on a closed dayRule 6(a)(1)(C) moves it to the next open day

The first two rows pull in opposite directions, and that is why a page that shows both counts is more useful than one number. A calendar count that skips weekends is late, and a business count that includes them is early.

One last check on the word ten itself. A ten day notice, a ten day trial and a ten day payment window can all mean ten calendar days or ten business days, and only the document says which. When the document is silent, courts fall back to Rule 6(a) and count calendar days with the weekend push at the end.

Use the date field above for a specific start date, and switch the count mode to business days when a contract says working days. The page prints both answers, so a wrong mode costs nothing more than a glance at the second row.

Frequently asked questions

What date is 10 days from today?

It is the calendar date ten days after your start date. From Wednesday, November 4, 2026 the answer is Saturday, November 14, 2026, which falls in ISO week 46. Put your own date in the field for the exact day.

Does 10 days include today?

No. The start date is day zero, so the count begins tomorrow. From November 4, 2026, day one is November 5 and day ten is November 14.

Is 10 days two weeks?

No. Ten days is one week and three days, or 1.43 weeks. Two weeks is 14 days, which is four days longer.

How many hours are in 10 days?

240 hours, which is 14,400 minutes or 864,000 seconds. A day is 24 hours, so 10 x 24 = 240 and 240 x 60 = 14,400.

How many weekdays are in 10 calendar days?

Seven or eight, depending on the start day. The window is one full week plus three days, and those three days hold one, two or three weekdays. A Monday start gives 8, a Saturday start gives 7.

How many calendar days is 10 business days?

Fourteen when no holiday interrupts, since ten business days is two full Monday to Friday weeks. Add one calendar day for each weekday holiday inside the stretch.

What is 10 days after December 25, 2026?

Monday, January 4, 2027. The window crosses the year end and lands in ISO week 1 of 2027. Ten business days from the same start is Friday, January 8, 2027.

What is 10 days after February 25, 2027?

Sunday, March 7, 2027, since February 2027 has 28 days. A court deadline stated as ten days would move to Monday, March 8, 2027 under Rule 6(a).

What is 10 days before March 3, 2026?

Saturday, February 21, 2026. The same ten day span runs backward across the end of February without any adjustment for month length.

How does a court count a 10 day deadline?

Under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 6(a), exclude the day of the triggering event, count every day including weekends and holidays, and if the last day is a Saturday, Sunday or holiday, move to the next open day. Served February 25, 2027, ten days ends Monday, March 8, 2027.

When must I report an address change to USCIS?

Within 10 days of moving, for most noncitizens in the United States. A and G visa holders and visa waiver visitors are exempt. Use the online change of address tool or Form AR-11, and notify the immigration court separately if a case is pending there.

How long is the window to report a move to USCIS in practice?

Ten calendar days from the move. Moving on Friday, March 6, 2026 puts the deadline at Monday, March 16, 2026, and USCIS advises filing as soon as you move rather than waiting.

Does the calculator count federal holidays?

No. Business day mode skips Saturday and Sunday only, so a federal holiday is treated as a working day. Subtract one business day for each holiday inside your window if the deadline depends on a court or a bank.

What is the tenth day if I count today as day 1?

One day earlier than the calendar answer. From November 4, 2026 the tenth day is Friday, November 13, 2026, while ten days later is Saturday, November 14, 2026.

Do weekends count in a 10 day notice period?

It depends on the document. Court rules count weekends and push only the final day, the CFPB rescission period counts Saturdays but not Sundays or federal holidays, and a lease can define its own business day rule.
