Fiverr Fee Calculator

Fiverr keeps 20% of every order, so a $50 gig pays you $40 before the payout fee. On 20 orders a month worth $70 each you gross $1,400, Fiverr takes $280, and a $12 payout charge leaves $1,108, an all-in take of 20.9%.

Fiverr keeps 20% of every order, then your payout method takes a cut on the way out. Enter a gig price to see what reaches your bank.

What Fiverr takes from a $50 order

Fiverr's seller fee is one number: 20% of the order. A $50 gig credits your account with $40, and the same rate applies to the base price, to gig extras and to tips. There are no volume tiers and no loyalty discount, so a seller on the first order and a Top Rated seller on the five hundredth pay the same share. Fiverr states the rule from the other side in its help center, which says freelancers receive 80% of the client's cleared payment (Fiverr Help Center, 2026).

Two timing rules matter as much as the rate. The 20% comes off before the money reaches your balance, so the earnings page always shows the net figure, and cleared funds sit for 14 days before you can withdraw them, or 7 days for Top Rated and Pro sellers. A gig can start at $5, and some categories set a higher floor, so the smallest order on the platform is a $5 sale that pays you $4.

That $4 is before the payout fee, which is the line most sellers forget. On a $5 order, a $3 Payoneer withdrawal costs more than the commission itself. The calculator above keeps the two charges apart so you can see which one is eating the order.

The fee stack: three charges and two payers

Fiverr charges both sides of a transaction, and only one of those charges comes out of your share. Buyers pay a service fee at checkout of 5.5% of the purchase amount, plus $3.50 on orders under $200 (Fiverr Help Center, 2026). You never see that money, but it sets the number your buyer compares against a competitor's gig.

The service fee is charged per payment, not per order. A $150 gig with a $50 extra approved later is two payments, and each one carries its own 5.5% and, if it lands under $200, its own $3.50. Tips work the same way. Quote a job as three milestones and the buyer pays the fee three times, which is worth knowing before you suggest splitting an order.

Read the table by payer. The top line is the only charge that reduces your earnings. The next two are added to the buyer's bill, and the last one lands when you move money out. A seller who budgets only for the 20% is planning for two thirds of the cost.

Worked example: 20 orders at $70

Take the calculator's default numbers: a $50 gig with $20 of extras, 20 orders a month, paid out weekly to a Payoneer account.

The commission is 20% of the sale, and the payout line adds 0.9 points on top, which is the gap between the advertised rate and what you feel. If you withdraw once a month instead, the payout line drops from $12 to $3 and you keep $1,117, an all-in take of 20.2%. PayPal at $0 a withdrawal leaves the full $1,120 and a 20.0% take. The commission is fixed; the payout line is the only part of the schedule you can shrink.

Order size changes the picture more than method does. On a single $10 order withdrawn on its own, Fiverr takes $2 and Payoneer takes $3, so half the sale is gone. On a $500 order the same $3 is 0.6% of the sale and the all-in take is 20.6%. The fee is regressive against small orders, which is why the $5 gig is a marketing price rather than a business model.

Withdrawal fees, method by method

Every payout method has a fee, a minimum and a speed, and the cheapest one is not always the one already set up on your account.

Payout methodFeeMinimumSpeed
PayPal$0$1Within 24 hours
Bank transfer via Payoneer$1$201 to 3 business days local, 5 to 7 for a USD wire
Payoneer account$3$10Up to 2 business days

Fiverr caps each withdrawal at $5,000 and makes you wait 24 hours after your first withdrawal or after changing a payout method, and 48 hours after updating your verified phone number (Fiverr Help Center, 2026). The Fiverr Revenue Card still works for existing cardholders at $1 to $3, but it was closed to new accounts in December 2022.

Currency conversion is a separate cost that does not appear in that table. Withdrawing a USD balance into a EUR or GBP account adds a conversion spread on top of the fee, and for most sellers outside the US that spread costs more than the $3. The minimum matters too: a $10 Payoneer minimum means a seller with $9 of cleared earnings has to wait for the next order before the money can move at all.

The price that nets you a target

Work backwards from the number you want to keep. The commission takes 20% first, so a target net of T needs a gross order value of T divided by 0.8, and the payout fee has to be spread across the orders in each batch.

At 20 orders a month with four $3 payouts, the fee is $0.60 an order. To net $50 an order, divide $50.60 by 0.8 to get $63.25, then subtract the $20 extra to land on a base price of $43.25. Twenty of those orders pay $1,012, the four withdrawals take $12, and $1,000 reaches your account.

Raise the target to $75 an order and the base price becomes $74.50: 75.60 / 0.8 = 94.50, minus the $20 extra. Both numbers assume the extras stay at $20. Change the extras and the base price moves dollar for dollar in the other direction, which is why the last field of the calculator takes the net figure rather than a markup.

Two floors apply. Fiverr will not let a gig start below $5, and some categories set a higher minimum, so a target that implies a $3 base price cannot be met at that order size. Raise the extras, raise the volume, or accept a lower net. The Fiverr terms of service and the help center both describe the 80% credit, and neither offers an exception for small orders.

Fiverr and Etsy charge different things

These two get compared because both are marketplaces with a published fee page, but the shapes are different. Etsy charges a stack against a product: $0.20 to list an item, 6.5% of the order total, 3% plus $0.25 to process the payment, and 15% if an offsite ad brought the buyer. Fiverr charges one 20% commission on a service, then a flat fee when you cash out.

Payment processingPaid by the buyer3% plus $0.25, paid by the seller
Charged on shippingNo shipping lineYes, shipping and gift wrap
Cost to cash out$0 to $3 a withdrawalNo per-payout fee

Run a $50 sale through both. Etsy keeps $5.20, which is 10.4% of the order: $0.20 listing, $3.25 transaction and $1.75 processing. Fiverr keeps $10 plus the payout fee. On a $500 sale the gap narrows in points but not in dollars, $100 against $47.95, or 20% against 9.6%. Fiverr sellers have no materials, no shipping and no returns to absorb, so the comparison is not as one-sided as the rates suggest.

The other difference is the base. Etsy's transaction fee follows shipping, so a seller who charges $10 postage hands over another $0.65. Fiverr has no shipping line and the 20% stops at the order amount. Etsy also bills the listing fee whether the item sells or not, while a Fiverr gig costs nothing until an order arrives. Our Etsy fee calculator runs the product side if you sell both ways.

What comes off after Fiverr

The 20% is not the last deduction. In the US, gig income counts as self-employment income, and self-employment tax of 15.3% applies to 92.35% of net earnings (IRS, 2026). On the $1,108 example that is about $157 before a dollar of income tax, which is why the calculator labels its result as before tax.

Then there is the cost of doing the work: software subscriptions, stock assets, the hours in a revision you did not scope. A percentage fee never turns a losing gig into a winning one, so price the work first and check what the platform leaves second.

The 14-day clearing period is a cash flow cost rather than a fee. At 20 orders a month, roughly half a month of earnings is always in transit, so a seller who needs the money on the first of the month should plan around that lag instead of assuming the balance is spendable. Weekly withdrawals cost $12 a month in the example above and buy steadier cash; monthly withdrawals save $9 and leave you waiting.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Fiverr take from a $100 order?

Fiverr keeps $20 and credits you $80, because the commission is 20% of the purchase amount. Withdraw that $80 through PayPal and you keep all of it. Withdraw it to a Payoneer account and the $3 fee leaves $77.

What does the buyer pay on a $50 gig?

$56.25. Fiverr adds 5.5% of the order, which is $2.75, plus the $3.50 small order fee because $50 is under $200. At $250 the buyer pays $263.75, since the $3.50 no longer applies.

Is the Fiverr fee 20% or more?

The commission is 20%. The rest comes from the payout: on a $50 order, a $3 Payoneer withdrawal adds 6% of that order, so your all-in take is 26% if you withdraw after every sale.

Does Fiverr take a cut of tips?

Yes. A tip is treated as part of the order, so a $20 tip pays Fiverr $4 and credits you $16. The buyer also pays the 5.5% service fee on the tip if it is sent as a separate payment.

What is the minimum withdrawal on Fiverr?

$1 by PayPal, $10 to a Payoneer account and $20 by bank transfer. Each withdrawal is capped at $5,000, and you must wait 24 hours between withdrawals.

How long before I can withdraw my earnings?

14 days after the order is marked complete, or 7 days for Top Rated, Pro and eligible Seller Plus sellers. A PayPal payout then arrives within 24 hours, while a bank transfer takes 1 to 7 business days.

How much do I need to charge to net $1,000 a month?

At 20 orders a month with a $20 extra and four $3 payouts, charge $43.25 per order. Each order then grosses $63.25, you keep $50.60, and 20 orders minus $12 of payout fees leaves $1,000.

Does Fiverr charge a listing fee?

No. Unlike Etsy's $0.20 per item, publishing a gig costs nothing and there is no renewal charge. You pay the 20% only when an order completes.

Can I avoid the 20% commission?

No. It applies to every completed order, including custom offers, extras and tips, at every seller level. The only lever you control is price, and the calculator shows the price a target net income requires.

What happens to the fee if an order is canceled?

A canceled order pays you nothing and no commission is charged, because there is no completed sale. The cost is the time you spent, which is why scope and delivery dates belong in the gig description.

Why is my payout smaller than my earnings page?

Two lines come out after Fiverr's cut: the withdrawal fee of $0 to $3, and any currency conversion if you withdraw a USD balance into another currency. Withdrawing to a USD account removes the conversion cost.

How is this different from the Etsy fee calculator?

Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee and 3% plus $0.25 processing on goods, with no withdrawal fee. Fiverr charges one 20% commission on services plus $0 to $3 a payout. On a $50 sale Etsy keeps about $5.20 and Fiverr keeps $10.

Does Fiverr take 20% of the buyer's service fee?

No. The commission is calculated on the order amount you set, not on the fee the buyer pays. A $100 gig with a $9 buyer service fee still pays you $80, not $72.80.

What is the smallest order Fiverr allows?

$5 in most categories, and some categories set a higher minimum. At $5 you receive $4, and a $3 payout fee leaves $1, which means 80% of the sale goes to fees once the withdrawal is counted.

Do I owe income tax on Fiverr earnings?

Yes. Fiverr reports US seller income on a 1099 form once you cross the threshold, and self-employment tax of 15.3% applies to 92.35% of your net. On $1,108 of net earnings that tax alone is about $157.
